What materials are used in candles?
Scent Germain candles are made with 100% soy wax. We use cotton-lead wicks, recyclable glass jars and phthalate free fragrance oils. Our ingredients are non-toxic, with no additives or color dyes; this eco friendly combination reduces allergens.
Why soy wax?
Soy wax is derived from soybeans, we get to enjoy candles and support American farmers! Soy wax is eco friendly unlike paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum (think gasoline). Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource. It is biodegradable and cleans easily using soap and warm water. Soy wax has a longer burn time than petroleum wax due to its low melting point. Also, because it doesn’t get as hot, it can be used as body moisturizer and there is little-no soot (the black stuff). Overall, soy wax is a no-fumes candle, keeping your home smelling nice and remaining gentle on the environment.
Why does my wax look like this?
Soy is a living organism. It continues to expand, contract and change from its current form. It may also look frosted (like tiny crystals). These flaws are normal and are indicators that you have purchased a pure soy wax candle. These natural differences do not affect the burn or scent.
How long can I burn my candles?
Although your soy wax candle has the potential to burn longer than a petroleum or parasoy candle, it is still dependent upon candle care. The following are estimates of burn time:
4oz: 25-30 hours
10oz: 50-60 hours
16oz: 90-100 hours
How fragrant are the candles?
Scent Germain uses the maximum fragrance oil allowed in soy wax. Some of our signature scents are naturally stronger than others, however, it depends on the size of the room. Our candles can fill a room of about 500 square feet (think bathroom, small-medium kitchen). We suggest burning 2 of the same scented candles in a larger room (i.e. living room) for a more potent result.
Do you have sales or promotions on candles?

Do you offer custom candles or private label?
Scent Germain does offer custom candles such as a one-time bulk order for an event (i.e. party favors). Please see our contact page and provide details for further information.
Scent Germain does not take private label candles orders at this time.
Do you offer wholesale?
Scent Germain does offer wholesale. Please complete our wholesale application. There are minimums on orders depending upon product desired.
What mailing carrier do you use?
Currently, Scent Germain delivers through USPS.
How long before my order ships?
Please allow 2-3 days for your order to be delivered. We will send out tracking information the day your shipment departs. USPS usually ships within 2-3 days from the delivery date.
Do you ship internationally?
Scent Germain only ships within the US at this time.
How do I return my candle?
Scent Germain does NOT accept returns. If unsatisfied with your product, please provide details, order number and pictures explaining the issue (i.e. cracked jar from shipping) on our contact page. We strive for customer satisfaction and will work with you in achieving this.
